"A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2012."
Che: Oh hello 4-and-a-half-year-old-Che-with-attitude! I'm sorry, but no child of mine rolls their eyes at me, even if I'm interrupting breakfast with the camera (my lens has no zoom, hence I need to get pretty close).
Poet: One word: flick.
Love it!
ReplyDeletethese are gorgeous!!! def LOVEEEE the first one, esp with those eyes! second shot is just peaceful and beautiful!

ReplyDeleteAh, the eye-rolling era begins. Sigh. Here too.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was a teenage thing. Clearly it's not. I think we've just had a burst of testosterone - apparently that happens at four. Any mumas of 4yr-old boys care to comment?
DeleteIt does happen at four, fun & games! I'm sorry I posted from my iphone I don't know why it repeated so many times??
DeleteNOOOOO! I'm having struggles with age three... have been looking forward to the easing off of drama that came when Ivy turned four. Now Ted's gonna get some kind of testosterone surge...? The other thing is the half-birthday disequilibrium - have you heard of this Jodi? 2.3, 3.5. 4.5....kids struggle, developmentally. It's all a bit tough. It's been true for mine thus far.
DeleteI'm the mama of 3 boys. 4 IS different! I've read they get the same dose of testosterone at 4 that they do at 15. Thats ALOT in a small body. I completely agree about the 1/2 birthday thing too, mine always are accompanied by a fever then a huge developmental leap.
DeleteOh my! I just laughed out loud. Well I should be concerned if the eye rolling is meant to start at 4 .5...
ReplyDeleteLove a good eye roll first thing in the morning!
ReplyDeletethese are gold, jodi. I love them! poet is looking more and more like you every day - those lips! x
ReplyDeleteHaha Che's facial expression is priceless. Both of these photos are beautiful though.
ReplyDeleteah, my husband still gives me that look if i interrupt his morning toast! must be a boy thing.. (and, oh, that flick!) xx
ReplyDeleteI have a 4 year old with attitude! Ive also read about the surge in testosterone. I think my son just isnt a morning person - much like his mama!
ReplyDeleteThose children of yours have lips to die for!! Loving the 'tude. Go Che ;) x

Lovely photos! Think the hormone thing must work for girls, too as my daughter slammed her bedroom door and told my husband and I that she hated us. Wasn't a happy day.
ReplyDeleteoh I don't you love the attitude!?... my 3 and half year old thinks she's 13 somedays!... Loving the potraits! ... think I might do the same! A good way to remember this time before there are 3 of them! : ) samara x
