"A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2012."
Che: Hiding from the camera, discovering the scariest of shadows
Poet: Her first cold - snotty-nosed and red-cheeked yet still giggling with glee
I'm unsure whether I'm going to continue posting these portraits every week. Are you bored yet? Perhaps you're a little tired of looking at photographs of my children. Please, do tell...
i think they are beautiful! please continue ;)
ReplyDeleteAgreed! Please continue! I look forward to these posts :)
ReplyDeleteJodes i love that wall! ha ha ha well the whole shot actually.
ReplyDeleteNo. Not tired. Never tired. Do please carry on.
ReplyDeleteThese portraits are so sweet! I bet it's going to be neat to have them in an album or such when the year is finished to see how much they've grown.
ReplyDeleteI plan to make a book including the captions from each week...x
DeleteI was just thinking ‘she should definitely make a book of these!’ They are gorgeous, you and your children will treasure them for years to come.
Deletethey are incredibly beautiful and they will adore looking back on them too. love the new blog header! xx
ReplyDeleteYou surely must know the joy we get from seeing these two, Jodi. Poet, sick yet still divine. Che, so so comical.
ReplyDeleteI love your photos and your blog, liking the new look too <3
ReplyDeleteps I found your blog when I was pregnant last year, Poet is only a couple of months older than my Hunter and I love reading about her milestones xx
They're lovely photos.
ReplyDeleteNo way! I love looking at these - feel like I get to know your bubbas a little more with every one! Regret not doing this for my own - next year for sure.. ps, love the new blog header x
ReplyDeleteKelly
I'm not a parent, but I think these photos are precious. You don't go overboard by posting 50 million photos, just a simple one photo of each kid. It's part of your life and I love your photos.
ReplyDeleteThese portraits are what originally drew me to your blog. They've inspired my own portraiture so much. I hope you continue to post them, they're so lovely.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pics as always :)
ReplyDeleteLove your new header.
x
Never bored of your posts J. Do it for you and your family first and foremost. It will be a wonderful collection to look back on.
ReplyDeleteI love these portraits! Please do continue :)
ReplyDeletebeautiful shot! love to see children grow.
ReplyDeleteChe's shadow is spooky!
ReplyDeleteBut I do love these portraits.
They are beautiful shots, but perhaps it's better to post them because you want to, not becuse you have to?
ReplyDeleteI do want to photograph them once a week, to document the year. I do want to post them...I'm just not sure people who visit here want to see them each and every week.
DeleteBut once I've started something I do feel the need to finish it...and posting here every Sunday is the discipline I need to see the project through.
If you want to post them and it sounds (reads) like people want to see them - keep posting!
DeleteNot bored in the least.
ReplyDeleteYour pictures inspire me to pick up my camera!
I love the photos of your gorgeous kids!!
ReplyDeletethey are beautiful - don't stop! :)
ReplyDeletenot bored at all! they are beautiful xx

ReplyDeleteLoving these shots especially.x
ReplyDeleteyes, the lovely and very beautiful Rebekka created it. x
ReplyDeleteLovely weekly photos...neat to see your kids personalities shining through too. I do like your other posts around the photos however, if it were just the photos and no other posting about what you had been doing, I would probably want more. Greedy no?
ReplyDeleteHa! Of course, there'll be other posts. Gosh, I won't get so boring as to only post weekly portraits. Promise.
DeletePlease continue! I agree with everyone else...all of the photography is so beautiful and inspiring.
ReplyDeleteYes, please continue! I agree you should make a book of them :)
ReplyDeleteKeep them coming! They are so beautiful, and every week it inspires me to do the same...

ReplyDeleteOne portrait once a week ... I'd be happy to see more!
ReplyDeletePlease go on! I really love that you post your project here -- I hope you plan to put it together in a book or something for each child at the end of the year.
ReplyDeleteNot bored at all. Your kids are gorgeous and such characters.
ReplyDeleteAnd your blog is very inspiring.
I am going through a de-cluttering phase at the moment with a 14 months old, and your home is such an inspiration. At the moment my greatest challenge is to be disciplined about baby toys and clothes. I was wondering what do you do with those toys that your kids get as presents but you don't really like them (big (or small) plastic ones that are not very nice to look at and hard to store).
My other question: Are you also struggling drying the washed clothes in this weather?
Keep the photos coming please, they are great. Agnes x
Oh, and another question:
ReplyDeleteWhere did you get Che's wee wooden kitchen? Thanks. x
It's actually one of the features I love most! Your children look so wise.
ReplyDeleteI always love looking at photographs of your gorgeous children! Such beautiful kiddies. It's wonderful to watch them grow. xx
ReplyDeleteKeep 'em coming! I regret that i didn't post more pics of Aila in the early days of blogging. I'm sure you'll appreciate having them to look back on. . . and i enjoy seeing your cuties grow too!
ReplyDeleterachel xo
{Beautiful new header too}
Don't stop. They are inspiring photos. You capture your children so thoughtfully.
ReplyDeleteKeep going!!! They are so cute
ReplyDeleteI think the portraits are lovely and I would like for you to keep posting them. It's the simplicity of it that I think draws me, and so many others in, to this particular type of entry. You give us a beautiful photo, a line to ponder, and then you step away, allowing your audience to connect its own dots and create for themselves the story that they came wanting to hear. You guide the reader where you want them to be, then leaves them to make of it what they want, and I very much enjoy that.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy your posts because your opinions are expressed unapologetically yet politely and because you give a wonderful vignette of your life while keeping mystery and privacy, as it should be. You practice a restraint in your openness that I find refreshing in a time when too many share too much. But still so warm... So charasmatic in your tales. When I cleared my daily reads to reduce the clutter I bring into this head of mine, the thought to remove yours never crossed my mind. It's too much of a treat to visit this space. Aesthetically pleasing, a great knowledge of subjects that interest me, and an approachable attitude toward the topics you write about and the people who visit. It's a priviledge to be able to see a bit of your insight as a mother and a woman.
These little portraits are always a nice little surprise to find when I visit your blog and I do hope you'll keep sharing them.
