We count ourselves pretty lucky to live up the hill from this little spot. We aren't all-day beach-goers (my fair skin isn't particularly suited to this summer sun) but we like to go for early morning or early evening sojourns where we putter and swim.
Yesterday, when the screams were becoming a little persistent and Daniel's and my patience was wearing thin, we headed to the sand and the salt, thankful for the open space. I got to wear my new hat (love it) and, when it came time to swim, I dove into the silence and relished in the buoyancy (and the personal space).

Looks like paradise to me. I grew up by the beach - it is what I miss the most living in Paris. Seeing the horizon, hearing the sound of the waves clashing and feeling the warm sand under my feet. Love your new beach hat - you look great in it!
ReplyDeleteOh how I wish I lived near the beach again. I miss it so.
ReplyDeleteSounds like pure bliss. I must get to the beach with my little ones these holidays. I love seeing their faces when they take in the ocean and it's enormity. So lovely! x
ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky.. my dad told me the other day that apparently 40% of Australian kids have never seen the beach.. I don't believe it (how could it be that high when most of the population live near the coast) but he insisted it was true.. very sad if it is.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your new hat.. Lisa Gorman can do no wrong!
(and I have just sent the link to Tom as it's my birthday in a couple of weeks.. )
We live near the ocean. I dont think i could move away from the coast now after being here so long. We venture out early mornings or late afternoons. Its nice to be able to do that with ease.I love your hat. Thanks for the link!

ReplyDeleteThis is just divine. You look stunning and your kids so happy. I'm missing the beach so much at the moment.
ReplyDelete5 years ago we lived near the beach (we live in USA and lived in Georgia, but now live in Ohio)...how I miss it...the nature, wind, waves, salty! We used to take trips there quite often...now we have to PLAN a trip. We live near family now, so I have to say that right now THIS is more important, although I fondly remember our beach days!
