blush

one. hypericum berries and lisianthus
two. my new top, lovingly created by Jay from and the trees

This past week I've been as flighty as they come so I indulged in a bohemian-inspired top and blush-hued blooms. Perhaps I have been day-dreaming about balmy summer weather and watermelon and mint juice. Just maybe that's been the best cure for days upon days of work and a general energetic lull.

When I turned the calender over to July this morning I realised that wishing winter away was neither necessary or beneficial. So this afternoon I basked in the soft light that's been hiding for a good week now. We ate pancakes for breakfast and homemade pizza for lunch. Tonight we'll have an early one and wake a little more ready for the week ahead.

And when I really do pine for summer stories I'll visit a dear friend and remember that soon, it will be our turn.

  2. We decided to brave the cold this afternoon and go eat ice-cream. Mr.Kypo and I agree that ice-cream goes with every season. I am looking forward to warmer weather and quenching juices with ice cubes.

  4. I could never wish the gentle nurturing of winter away. Smoky, cosy, rugged and brisk. It energises me and gives me time to think. x

    1. I wholeheartedly agree Bron, but I'm growing tired of these grey days - week after week. The slow of the season is nice though, and nourishing x

  5. Lovely heartening photographs...We braved the cold and went for a stroll this afternoon. It felt invigorating, and we all came back with cold noses and rosy cheeks. Good and bad things about being deep into Winter. So yes, best way to approach the grey days is just to embrace.

    (Love Dear Friend) x

  6. What a beautiful top, and blooms too.

I feel the same right now, but about winter. The grey wet days here are so tiresome for summer, I'd rather it were autumn or winter and we had the snuggles and slowdown that goes with those seasons.

I'm trying not to wish time away. Each week that zips by Phiney grows more and it's happening too quickly! xx

  7. Love your new top - something to brighten the days. Thank you for introducing us to Dear Friends - she is lovely and looks a bit like Kate Winslet don't you think? She is already a favourite read and it is lovely to feel the heat coming out of those photos! X

  8. I am a born beach bum and struggle very much during the cooler months, but I try. I try not to wish it away, and I try to see the good things. And most importantly I try not to whinge in my head about how cold it is. I try...

  10. I found myself daydreaming about summer weather yesterday, too. But then I remembered how I'm often so hot, sticky and flustered to go anywhere or do anything in the heat of summer, and so I vowed to get on with it and enjoy this winter. I'm actually quite liking the at-home days with Everly, pottering about the house. I love your photos, I carried white lizzies on my wedding day. x

  11. I have been wishing away the winter of late. But you've made me realise that there is a lot about winter to be thankful for. Thank you for the perspective.
Those Lisianthus are beautiful. They remind me of my wedding day!
