Poet Winter is simply gorgeous - a wide-eyed beauty with the knowing and curiosity of a wise little being. Che adores her but, as was expected, he's been a little challenged by the change. I think the hardest thing for me has been the sudden multi-tasking of being a muma of two. Attempting to attach Poet, breathe through after-pains (whoa - intense!) and include/chat with Che was difficult. But, we got there.
The grandmas have been here everyday - they have cooked, washed and tidied. We have only had a handful of visitors. Just as we had intended. Most of the time it's just been the four of us - getting to know each other. Our new little family.
Thank you, so much, for all your well-wishes, congratulatory messages and 'loves' of her name. She is indeed our little Poet. And with initials like P.S. I do wonder whether she'll always have something extra to say.
Oh Jodi, it's probably weird seeing that I don't really 'know you' in that personal sense, but I've been thinking of you and your beautiful family lots this past week. Sounds like so far it's been amazing, challenging and full of love. And just LOOK AT THOSE LIPS! Kellie xx PS love the ps!
ReplyDeleteI feel a bit the same as Kellie. I wonder if it's because we share intimate details of our lives here on our blogs? It always feels like you're sitting down with a good friend for a chat and a cup of tea. Lovely photos Jodi x
ReplyDeletePS is just delightful, those lips are too delectable. Sounds like you've had a luscious, albeit full on week. Go you for getting through it xx
ReplyDeleteIt's funny I was thinking the same thing, I too have wondered numerous times the past week how the new addition to your family is going and wondering how much your life has changed with a single plus one. She is adorable, so precious. thankyou so much for allowing us too see such special photos. I am so happy for you Jodi xxx

ReplyDeleteOH MY GOD Jod's, she is just simply perfect. We have a gift for your sweet angel and i will have to bring it over. I will stay away and let you breath, take it in and grow together for now, but i cannot wait to hold her. She looks just like you. Those lips! That sweet little face. She is amazing. Congrats, you guys as always have done a beautiful job...xxxxx

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful little girl--and yes-those lips are perfection! I do love that her initials are PS--so are mine!! (I married into that, though.) I think with the name Poet--she sure will have something extra to say--I just love it! So glad you all are getting acquainted and you are balancing being a Mum of two... when I think about having a second, I worry about my first's feelings and then I worry-could I do it? Thanks for sharing these thoughts with us! It certainly helps me to learn- and to rejoice with you!

Those lips!! So so beautiful. The love you can see in Che`s eyes makes me well up. Enjoy every moment of these precious moments.
ReplyDeleteI'm assuming you were able to birth at the center as planned? ...and home within 6 hours - Bliss! That was our plan, too...but unfortunately it didn't turn out that way... we were home the next day though. There's nothing like those first days at home as a new (in your case, bigger) family.
ReplyDeletePoet looks incredibly sweet, as does Che looking on in adoration. You must be pinching yourself, you lucky mumma. xx
P.S - I only just realised that my original comment didn't publish... I said something along these lines as soon as you posted this... but it must have failed. oops xx
More congratulations to this beautiful family of four.
ReplyDeleteoh, look at her! how absolutely beautiful she is. she looks like a little rosebud.
ReplyDeleteThe after pains - oh my - hope they are much better now.
Reading this reminds me of where I was a year ago - our little man was born on a full moon in the northern hemisphere summer...it doesn't feel so long ago.
Congrats to you and thank you for taking the time to share these lovely pics and snippets with us :)
1. I wish I had Poet's lips!
ReplyDelete2. I wish my initials were P.S. So, so cool. xx
I'm glad to hear you're all doing so well. She really has the most gorgeous lips. And Che's eyes. Dontcha think? And I can't stop thinking about her name. It really is lovely. Your whole birthing and baby experience (and the 9 months prior) sound like bliss. You make me want to do it all over again. And that photo of the adoring Che reminds me of Oli's face when he held Elke for the first time. He will be an amazing big brother to little Poet. I can feel it in me waters. b xx

ReplyDeleteah such cozy nesting days. i love these and especially the bird eye view of Poet swaddled on the bed.
ReplyDeletei found those immediate after pains unexpectedly (despite all warnings and heads up from other mamas) intense too. it sounds like the grandma's are taking good care of you all, supporting you and your space. enjoy! xoxo
